A typing test that tells you what to fix

Most typing tests hand you a number and leave. This one records which keys you actually miss and builds your next drill out of them — in your browser, with no account and nothing to sign.

Why this site exists

The useful part of a typing test is not the score. It is knowing that your right hand keeps missing the transition into "io", or that your speed collapses the moment a capital letter appears. That is the information that changes how you practise, and almost no typing test bothers to collect it.

So this one does. Every mistyped character is logged along with the two-character transition you were in the middle of, and the Weakness Doctor builds word sets weighted towards your own worst material instead of handing you another shuffled word list.

How speed is measured here

The maths is the standard one, stated openly so you can compare scores with any other site:

  • One word = five characters, spaces included. This is the convention every WPM figure you have seen uses.
  • Raw WPM counts every character you typed, mistakes included.
  • Net WPM counts only the characters that were correct. This is the headline number.
  • Accuracy is correct characters divided by everything you typed.
  • Consistency comes from how much your second-by-second speed varies around its own average — a high score means an even pace, not a fast one.

The clock starts on your first keystroke, not when the page loads, and it stops the moment time runs out or the passage ends.

What this site deliberately does not do

  • No account wall. Nothing is gated behind signing up, because there is no sign-up.
  • No tracking. No analytics, no advertising network, no cookies — the privacy policy lists the four local storage keys that exist and nothing else, because nothing else exists.
  • No invented statistics. You will not find a user count or a tests taken figure on this site, because there is no server counting them.
  • No fake certification. The certificate is a nice image of a real measurement, and the terms say plainly that its verification code proves nothing by itself.

What is built, and what is not

Shipped and working today: timed tests from fifteen seconds to ten minutes, five practice modes, live speed and accuracy, a per-second speed chart, the local error profile and its adaptive drills, AI custom topics, mobile keyboard support, a downloadable certificate and the written guides under Learn.

Not built yet: accounts, history synced across devices, a real global leaderboard, and server-verified certificates. Those need a backend that does not exist, and the pages for them say so rather than faking it.

Who makes it

aitypingtest.online is an independent project, not a company. There is no office, no team page and no investors — just a site maintained by the person who built it. That is also why there is no support desk: messages are read and answered by one person, when there is time.

Corrections are genuinely welcome. If a page here states something inaccurate about how typing works, or about what the site does with your data, say so on the contact page and it will be fixed.
